Work Sucks!

I work for a collection agency. It's one of the most stressful jobs I've ever had. It's not the debtors who call in that bother me--it's the people I have to work with. It's like going back in time to high school, where people talk about you behind your back and spread nasty rumors about you to everyone else; but of course they are nice to your face.

I used to be real good friends with my supervisor. We would go out to lunch together, hang out at each other's houses, I even helped her move her dad's stuff from out of state, driving about 700 miles round trip.

The truth is, you think you know someone really really well. But in reality you have no idea what kind of person they really are.

I work my butt off for this company, but I never once get told, "way to go!" or "good job for keeping caught up on all your work!" None of that. But watch out if you make a tiny error----they will come after you like a rotweiler snarling and baring their teeth.

I have to get buzzed on my lunch breaks just to make it through the day at this place. It's like they don't like to see you happy. If you start laughing or are in a good mood, they will come at you and tell you you've done something wrong, or be total bitches to you.

Funny thing is, my supervisor got wrote up for our department being behind. Part of it is our boss' fault for not hiring another person for the vacant position. So I did a lot of work sometimes foregoing my lunch break to try
to stay on top of things. We still got behind. And no one cared that me & my friend were working six days a week. No one cared then and they still don't care now. Instead of praising our work, they ride us all the time and talk to us like little children. I can't stand that. To be told something over and over again like I'm an idiot.
